HBOS Small Enclosure Air Purification Units (SEAPU)
There are many applications in the typical industrial, commercial, or even the residential environment that would benefit from air purification equipment that is small, easily installed, simple to maintain, runs on 110 volt power, and performs well for small volume applications.
The Small Enclosure Air Purification Unit, or SEAPU for short, was designed with these very applications in mind.
The SEAPU has a powerful 110 volt 60 Hz fan that has been configured to operate at either 40 or 90 CFM at a simple flip of a switch. There are two prominent lighted indicators that show the system is powered, and at which speed the fan has been dialed. The unit is very compact at 29"L x 10.5"W x 11"H and weight 29 pounds.
This system is ideal for small rooms, or cabinets that need protection from potentially damaging production by-products or ambient air contaminants. The unit can be ducted easily with pvc or HVAC duct material to multiple small cabinets. The unit has a rear discharge and can be mounted horizontally or vertically depending on the needs of the location.
The typical configuration involves a particulate pre-filter immediately in front of four stages of specialty carbon that has been impregnated in order to improve the kinetics of gas exchange on the surface of the carbon. This impregnation process results in an increase in the typical exchange kinetics by as much as 5-7 times what would occur in an un-impregnated media. The carbon is selected specifically because of its unique structure, having both micro and macro-porous composition, which allow for greater removal efficiencies of both high and low molecular weight contaminants. This system puts significantly more activated carbon in the airstream for removing gas phase contaminants than anything available in the market today.
The SEAPU is a great low cost solution to protecting small spaces. Whether using as a stand alone system, or in concert with others, the payback on these units is exceedingly fast, often in 6 months or less depending on the application and the contaminant concentrations.
