The carbons utilized in HBOS products are chosen specifically for their attributes and their ability to service the gas phase air purification markets exclusively. Our choice of carbons is not limited to other products we make, or other businesses that utilize our raw materials. We simply find the best carbons to go after air contaminants found in our customer facilities.
Our products take long established technologies and improve on the design. The HBOS-Extruded Modules are second generation designs that utilize a unique air re-mixing chamber to create a more turbulent air flow through the media making it less laminar and improving surface area contact of the contaminated air with the media. These products contain activated carbons that have high levels of both micro and macro-porous structure (much more than currently available products possess), allowing for better removal of both high and low molecular weight gas phase contaminants. HBOS modules contain on average about 25-30% higher activated carbon content than competitive products, so there is more working media in each module.
The HBOS-Carb activated carbon is designed to successfully function an average of 3.5 years in typical industrial environments with average levels of contamination, and the capacity for removal of acid gas components (like Hydrogen Sulfide) are far superior to others available on the market today. As change-outs get pressed farther and farther out past their due dates, systems with lower quality carbons are really putting their "protected spaces" at great risk.
